ok my brother and i are on the trail to findind this place. we live in Old Town and also read the article.
there was a fire that it appears nobody died in, there is no mention anywhere of a cholera outbreak, and people just moved back into the OT area after the tannery went away.
i found a book at the library with a composite sketch of what the town looked like and was laid out. there was a school, a bar, the boarding house, a rollerskating ring owned by a Mr Moxie. there were houses along the hillside,
part of the tannery wall still stands today, armed with this info we are heading out tomorrow to take a peak and try to find the cemetery.
there is also a for sale sign on the road leading into Baker Hill would be cool to see if some of the old land of riceville is up for sale.
