Personally I think the kids have enough days off and I understand the need for it and all.. But there has to be a better way. This is really going to cram the teachers and the kids with the lesson plans they have and probably load up the homework more so then they all ready have as it is!
I would rather see this though then teachers and other services cut from the schools though so I guess that is my opinion if this is the only option then so be it.. short of going year round school which allows for months at a time off track.. i know we had it in Utah and it worked great for the kids and the teachers really..
I think that is another option that the state of Maine should look at as well.
Tell me what you think.. Summer you especially where you work in a school..
