Well, hello again from the quaint little town of Sidney,ME.! I've been dieing to chat about a common topic thats been circulating arround our house for some time now{paranormal/psychic sensitivity}.
Now I'm not one to brag but I'm an unfortunate bearer of said talent/curse in that department. Ever since I was a child I've known that I was differnt from other people. I heard things others could not and always asumed that every body else was just not listening hard enough to what I could hear and feel. Now I've been told that sensitivity comes in many froms. My fathers mother(a gypsy immagrant from TetternoChangni, Romania)was openly blunt about her gift towards every one she'de meet. She would call it her "shivers". She once discribed her "shivers" as a strong cold sensation she would get when she was near to a spirit or a bad/"sad "place. this would start in her hands,go slowly up her arms, and in extreem cases, go strait to her core and make her shiver uncontrolably! when she frist told me about here experinces with the paranormal I was 8years old and did not fully understand the implecations of said gift. But aparently I had more in common with my "Babu" than I could ever imagine.
I first started to notice that I would get simmilar symptoms to my Babu's when I attended a funeral for a friend in junior high. He had been sick with HIV from blood transfusions and had commited suicide. I went to his house for the wake and as soon as I stepped through the door my eyes stared to water ans I couldn't stop feeling shakey. Ofcourse I chalked it up to grief and didn't give it a second thought until some months later when I had the same reaction to another friends home in Skowhegan where we went to study for a test we would take in school. As soon as we arrived at the door and her mother answered " come in kids" I froze and began to weep and shake uncontrollably. My friends mother was very concerned with m reactions and urged me to come and sit down so that I could relax and compose myself and explain what was wrong. Unfortunately I could go no further than the front porch(thank the gods it was late spring and warm out!) *I. later discoverd that The family that first biult the old house in the 1800's had experienced the death of both mother and child soon after the home was completed. The house was sold soon after to my friends great grandparents*
Well anyhow, I've learened to somewhat controll those sensations and have attempted to convert them into a usefull detector.

Well I cannot state that I have had similiar experiences. I don't think of it as a curse myself, probably because of the fact I don't have such a gift. But I do sense some things sometimes. My son and my hubby and his dad are very gifted. And have all three experienced various things. From evil to non evil. I have never known much about the Gypsies and their culture but from what you have stated I find it very interesting and that they seem to be a very gifted people. I find you are very sensitive and as you get along in life you will be able to probably control it more and more as time goes along. I think though you have a wonderful gift and probably can use it to help others over time as you understand and the gift starts to settle in more to you and you to it. Have you ever been to Romania and/or had a chance to study your families heritage? and find out more about your family to find more that may be gifted in your family? I just find it really neat your history and your culture. But I am sure more will post here their skills as there are a few with very many sensitive feelings and they are able to use it with helping of others. My blessings to you and your future with this wonderful gift you have.

Wow! Thats pretty crazy! I know lots of people who experience spiritual energy in very different ways. When I am "sensing" I tend to get kind of narrow-vision. Its as though I am sort of stepping out of my body in a way to reach the other spirit. I am aware of my surroundings but they can be "muffled". Not sure how else to describe it. When a spirit directly gives me info (rather than me going after it) I get goose bumps all over my body, usually starting with my arms. So in a way that is kind of like what you experience.
Can you pick up on ghost trails? In my experience ghosts can be pretty routine in where they like to travel. When I walk across one of these trails it can kind of feel "thick" , like walking through deep water almost. Sorry, its hard to describe. Can you do this too?
I can see them if they are moving. If they stand perfectly still , they can be right in front of me and I might not notice. Once, one threw an earring at me, I never knew it was right in front of me. But if it moves...
Anyway, you are not alone. Many people experience strange abilities that are difficult to explain. It might be good for you to get paired up with someone who is a sensitive/medium, etc. to test what you are able to do. Just a thought.

When I'm in the presents of the spirits it is often a "heavy" feeling often coupled with a sort of static electricity. Only on rare ocations when the entity or place posseses a lot of physical energy do I sometimes "see" things. I wish that I could wear special glasses that would allow me to see what I'm feeling all the time!
It's good to hear from you all! There is so little that we know about the spirit world. The closer we get to discovering how to communicate with them, the more mysteries we have to decode. My wish for the future is to unite with others who have experienced simmilar instances and to go to sites we have previousley investigated, and do individual sweeps to see how we overlap with different senses.
As to "ghost trail" and being able to sense them; I have had simmilar experiences when I felt as though I was following something that was trying to elude our group, only to be backed up by eerie EVP's or coldspots. What I experience is like walking through a tunnle of smoke or like when you walk through the front doors of a grocery store and that blast of atmospheric change hits you then is gone.
As far as communicating with entities, I can't say that I "speek" with them; rather, I feel emotions such as anger,fear.love,grief,happines. Sometimes if I sit quietly and meditate, I can get short "flashes" of memories/old conversations. I'ts sort of like walking in on an argument; you don't know exactly what's been said but you get a feel of the conversation. Sorry I'm being so vaigue, but it's hard to descibe what I feel.

I love the description of grocery store atmospheric change. I think that is very similar to what I would describe as well. I get a static electricity feeling sometimes when they touch me, but not otherwise.
I like your idea of group sweeps. Great way to validate what gifts you might have.
It sounds like you may have some empathic ability as well.
It think this is a great forum for others to express their abilities. Don't be shy! I believe we probably all possess a little something, sometime we just do not recognize it as an ability, especially if you have had the ability since childhood. It can just feel "normal".

Thanks Whitelight! Ya I've been thinking of maybe putting together a trip to as yet an undecided location to do a sweep or two. Sounds like a fun night/day. It probably wont happen until spring, but I'll let you all know when we finalize any plans as to when and where. I've been searching for a claivoyant artists, a medium, a seer, a dowser and perhaps an oraist or someone with a thermal camera to document any temp changes while doing readings. It would be great to have physical evidence to back up physical experences!
It would be great to see any pictures if anything is around you as you are "communicating" or "feeling" I put those in quotes as they really don't apply as you don't really communicate I guess or feel anything really all the time.. I like the description it helps me to understand my hubby and my father in law.

I don't know why but my son's are the same way. But my son can SEE them lucky him. I think. He is having some issues right now that we have his light on for a few days, mind you he is only 12 years old and there is a spirit of a colonial soldier all dressed in Black in his room, this room was built new as an addition to our home. My hubby felt something in the room a little bit, the tingly in his hands. He gets a surge of electric energy when a presence is nea. If it is children they will touch him, for some reason adults cannot nor will evil. Same with my father in law and my son, nothing adult or sinister has touched him. And one story my son came home with last weekend was this one:
My son was recently at a Christian non demoninational church in Corinth and he SAW black figures whisping around him, as well as black figure that was bony he said, he told me mom it was like the grim reaper, behind the Preacher, or Father or whatever he calls himself of the church. (he was visiting a friend and they all went to church on sunday.) Anyways, after the services everyone was saying good bye and he litterally told the preacher, your church does not have God in it, it is not safe to be here.
The preacher looked at him and said no you are wrong child, God is in my church. My son stated to him no it is not YOUR church, this is God's home and you or someone in your group here is not of full faith and you have spirits in the church that don't belong here. They are evil. I can see and feel them. there is going to be repercussions because of this. The Preist just looked at my son like he was out of his mind. Well, my son went to school and the Preacher died, two days later. They are looking for another Preacher/Minister for the church now.
He was only like 41 or so.. they don't know why but they are calling it natural causes. He was found in his home by a parish member.
So go figure that one out!
I do know this colonial soldier has me confused this is a first for us.. though we have an indian buried on our property I do not know how old and/or when this property was truly established and/or the history of it other then from our landlord's mother time she owned it, it seems there is no records at all of our area what so ever.. let alone BEFORE it became anyone's property.. I know it was not Hudson at the time it was a different name, It was first a plantation in the early 1800's first and was known as Jackson Plantation and then it became Kirkland and incorporated as Kirkland around 1824 and then in 1854 it changed to Hudson.
So whether there was a colonial person here I will never know or they are just passing through but they were by his bedside three nights in a row when he turn the light on in his room they would still be there and he come to get us they would vanish.
So don't know. The person is just staring at him and not moving, as my son gets out of the bed and gets to the light, they just keep staring at the bed. So he does not know. It does not make him fear, I think he is more curious then afraid, he just wants the thing out of his room is all.
It was not like he came and got us or anything he tried to ask it some questions but it was as though he was not there and finally he prayed and it left.
But came back the next two nights to do the same thing. So I don't know seems to just want to stare at his bed for some reason, which is a bunkbed.. maybe reminds him of barracks? I really don't know. But we get these passer-bys all the time it seems they come and go through the trailer.
I just seem to be on a Spirit Trail I think, at times.
Any thoughts are welcome and again thank you all for posting your experiences and feelings too when you have an experience, it helps me to see what my family with these gifts are experiencing to some degree and help to understand it as I have different gifts, mine are not that way.. but they are totally different.
Lynne, That is incredible about the preacher!! I wonder if your son was predicting the future when he saw the "reaper" figure behind the preacher....I am so happy that he was not afraid to verbalize what he saw and not keep it inside. When you were talking about the soldier just standing in your sons room it makes me think that he is standing at the grave of a loved one. Did your son say if he had his hat in his hand, like out of respect? I think that is incredible you son would try to communicate with him before running for help. Because the spirit didn't answer makes me wonder if it is residual and not intelligent. Too bad you couldnt move his bed and see if the spirit still stares at the same spot.
I don't really have any "gifts". When spirits are near I get a feeling of heaviness in my chest, sometimes a frontal lobe headache, or intestinal issues. The other night I awoke and thought I heard a male voice in my room (no men in there..hahahahhaha) and saw several shadows. But that is the extent of my psychic powers at this time. Sometimes I envy those that have great gifts, other times I feel bad that they have to be aware of others sufferings on a daily basis. Lisa B.
My son has been so well taught about spirits from his Grandfather and his dad.. that he is not scared of them at all. But we did keep the light on for a few days for him. He is at a freind's house the weekend and things have been quiet but we have kept up a vigil of watching for the spirit. It could be. I don't know. The only thing that has changed is that Rainey our PitBull is now sleeping with him in his room, which she wasn't that night and she is very sensitive as at times she will bark outside in the house and there is nothing there, she will see something though and then she stops barking and goes about the house doing her thing.
So something passes through that she don't care for and she let's us know. A passer by as we call them :)
I know it is not the first time though that my son has told us things before they happened, as you know I have posted this on the site, he has been this way for years. Since he was 3 years old and it seems to be more heightened now then ever, like his gifts are growing for him.
I just hope between dad and Grandpa that he can understand them as gifts and not a curse. We want him to not hate his abilities but accept them. And use them as needed for good things.
So I think he did see the priest's demise you are right. I know if I could move his bed I would.
I don't know what was on this land before all this but you never know we have found some interesting things I tell you! as we have dug into the ground. From Car Parts to clothing lol :)

I believe being a sensitive is a very special gift. As long as it's "nice" ghosts. LOL. I have yet to run into a grumpy one in my home or wherever. I get a little creeped out going into the basements once in awhile. But nothing big. I've tried to teach my nieces about ghosts, and they really do know that the ones in our home are not mean, but they like to watch spooky movies so they end up scaring themselves. lol.
Well Lynne, I think little Tippy158 is going to be o.k. He knows about dad and grandpa, and he knows about the afterlife. He knows that it is a normal part of our journey. I sit here and imagine how he would be feeling and what he would be thinking if he didn't have the support and understanding that your family has surrounded him with, and it makes me sad that there are others less fortunate struggling with their fears. Even though we have shows like Psychic Kids with Chip Coffey out there helping these youngsters, there are still many, many other kids suffering in silence with no one to talk to. Sad.
Keep in mind that your son is close to puberty. I think this may be the time that his senses are really going to explode, so it is probable that he is already heightening those senses. He is going to be fine, I have no doubts about that, you are a great mom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lisa B.

And you are right even though we have the Psychic Kids shows and Chip out there trying to help the few we have a LOT of children out there, wandering about and wondering if their gifts are bad or evil and if they are bad for having them, not understanding them and not realising that they are gifts and can bring about good, and are lost and confused and sometimes they feel isolated and lonely because of them.
Though my son does not talk openly about them.. to others, and neither do i.. to his friends and that, that is fine with me. I rather he did not unless the other child is in his same shoes as him and opens up to him first.. as here in Maine some people think you start this you belong in Acadia! I swear!
I am from California and Utah where there seems to be a bit more open-minded people on this subject...
And you are right Grandpa even told him that as he gets older his gifts may become more stronger and more powerful and more noticeable not to be afraid of them to accept them and use them only for the good and the better as they can be taken away as quickly as they were given...
He is understanding to it and does not mind it much. I like it that he is not afraid of the afterlife. And that he is strong to it and understanding to it. Thank you again Lisa :)

Last night I was watching Boogeyman 2 and one part was so intense I thought I was going to have a heart attack! It scared me so much! some of the parts where they grabbed the girl in the movie! LOL
Now they got Boogeyman 3 have to watch it! on the computer for FREE!
And you are not the only one creeped out by basements I think basements are all creepy no matter what you do with them! LOL
I have a basement problem! As well...Everytime GH or GHI and/or PS goes into a basement or dungeon I think something is going to come out and greet them everytime! LOL

You do seem to be living near or on some sort of "spirit trail" or spiritual nexus. I'd realy love to visit your home and do a few readings with instrements and me and my hubbie jim. He seems to be very adapt at feeling out a places energies. Do you live near/on stone deposites? Quartz/granite/micca deposites have been linked to "activity" on many occations as well as a strong magnetic center. Gyger counters/dowsing rods and pendulum work would probably be the best detectors for centers of such activity if that is the case.
I hope that these "trails" are not causing you and yours any grief. If so, there are some means to deal with the effects of such closse proximity. Please let me know if you need any assistance.

Hey nym.. well we have a lot of Iron in the ground during the spring it comes up litterally, rusty iron composites.. and well we have a lot of rocks of all sorts.. slate especially and I think some other rock types and forms. but a lot of slate we have dug up places for ditches and gardens and let me tell you there is a lot of rock types through here..
I don't mind but my family may mind.. i will have to check with them.. as far as the "activity" It does not seem like a lot to me.. but it is a trail they come and go my animals see it and my family from time to time there will be a spirit float through. I almost think the grave on the land too does not help of the Indian buried here.. maybe bringing them in as well. I will have to take a picture of that stone in the spring before the trees overcome it again. And show you all.
There is a person buried under it as well.. but it is headstone and just leaning on a tree. Pretty interesting stuff..really.
I mean I am on a wildlife trail.. so why not a "spirit trail" too! :) we get all sorts of wildlife all the time, turkey, raccoons, skunk, deer, moose, black bear, loons, pheasants, you name it I get it, and then there are the ducks too! And voles and mice and doves and other birds come through here we have never even seen before! Busy place here I tell you in the spring and summer! With the animals!

Well thank you Robin I do like the offer and I will keep it in mind.. I am sure something is alive and well here.. but they really don't bother us that much.. I know you are all curious! :) and would love too but like I said the family members might flip their wigs at it though..
I have grandpa and my hubby too of the beliefs bothering the spirits might bring them into the home.. regardless of the known safegaurds you all do and everything.. So I have to respect them, as they are living here too as well.. I will discuss it with them.. but I am sure they will not agree with it. As far as the activities here it is not bad really.. it is on an occassion here and there that it does happen but not like everyday.. LOL
And really they only drift in and out it is like they have to pass through for some reason they may stop and look around or take a tour of our little trailer but other then that they leave except for children. And I think that is because my children have so many interesting things in their rooms.
But other then that it is not like we are really overwhelmed with guests, they are not coming in everyday LOL the dogs bark like I said outside.. a lot at nothing, day and night, but again that is on occassion too..
I think it is more busy with wildlife then with spirits
And that can be fun too! The wildlife here!
I have loved supporting this group of wonderful members.. we are all level headed and down to earth..and I love how everyone is so openminded to everyone no matter what it be the stories are awesome, the investigations and all.. it is a wonderful group to belong too! :) Believe me if it was just me and the kids.. I would love to have you all come down and do an investigation! I would be all for it..
But with my two male counterparts in the home there is no way I could allow it or be allowed to have it.. 
I would be in the doghouse for years to come!
Too bad! Sounds like it'd be a great investigation. I know the feeling though. My hubby is SUCH a nonbeliever if I ever asked the team to come in, he'd not be thrilled. He's fine if I want to run around looking for stuff, and believes that I believe, if that makes sense but he's a staunch non-believer. Something could literally smack him in the face and he'd be looking for fishing wire in the ceiling! LOL When the cat goes away, the mouse plays though! :)
