Yes- I agree! We should have a poll category. It would be interesting. Forum members could just click a button or something corresponding to the question. Then answer "yes" or "no". We need to get the forum admins to help us. smile

I have heard of that too Whitelight as well...
That if you tend to really watch a lot of ghost stuff and do a lot of EVP's and such and hauntings of places it kind of sticks with you I guess and you get more Paranormal stuff in your home. Well knock on wood and hug a tree.. I have never been affected by it, But I will start a poll for you on this one too :)
I am just curious as well what our members think and what they have experienced while on here and if it is more or less or nothing at all or about the same. for them.
I personally does not mean the household but really it has been quiet lately for us sigh of relief LOL

I think it is important to have a little quiet time before and after an investigation to quiet your mind of the negative things of the day before you start, then to remind the spirits that they are not welcomed to follow any of us as we leave..........

Yep i agree with you there Lisa.
It sounds like a good plan really and good practice to have.

I honestly believe that the 3 am thing is true, but not because of the particular hour. I think that the spirits are always around us, and those who are trying to get our attention continue to try throughout the day and night. However, between 12 and 3, our bodies begin to be tired. The normal hub-bub of the day become less important and so we are able to become more aware of the other things around us. Also, since a lot of spiritual activity occurs in the form of light, it is like a candle in the day versus one at night. At night it appears brighter and more noticeable. Thus, lights from spirits would be more noticeable at night as well. I have seen and experienced spirits during the day just as much as I have at night.

I like that analogy of the candle in the day vs. the candle at night.....I believe also that the "quiet" time of midnight to 3am is what is most conducive to experiencing paranormal activity. I also believe that you can accomplish this at other times of the day with relaxation/meditation to calm your inner dialogue.........Great point..........

Yes, meditation/relaxation does help get to that point of open mindedness. In certain Native American traditions it is considered wrong to call on or disrupt the spirits of those who have died. My great grandmother was a medicine woman and she raised my father. She would always tell him things like "don't sweep the house at night or else you will sweep up the spirits. Don't run at night because you might run into a spirit and they don't like being bumped." In the Native tradition you don't even tell stories or play music during certain times of the year because you don't want to prematurely wake the plant spirits. However, when it is important to call on a spirit (such as during a sweet lodge or when trying to help guide one to the other side) this must be done during, or at least started during, the day. So, in order to focus they meditate and relax themselves and focus on the task. It is very interesting because I have had experiences with both the late night/early morning and the day. Each was effective in its own way.
I do think that for people who are new at this should start during the day. Although it can be a little harder to focus, it is easier to break if you need to.

One of the other things about three a.m. is the electrostatic field surrounding the earth. At three it is the calmest in that particular spot. It has something to do with the way the sun plays with it, so therefore there is less interference for spirits to manifest.

Yes you will find Fishie Kaspr is full of neat information  and we love him for that! grin
If he ever leaves we will all cry!
Thanks for sharing the Native American beliefs..It reminds me of some of the Afro-American beliefs I came across with a family in South Carolina and North Carolina with my now deceased fiance'. His Grandmother, very superstitious, got onto me about Sweeping the Feet. It means you will go to jail!
And so you don't sweep anyone's feet ever or they will go to jail.
before a marriage you must not fight for a week, or the marriage will be cursed to be doomed.
If you fight in the week before the marriage, it is best to postpone it for a month to clear the air as they put it.
They had a lot of interesting ways about them.
I have found out more information by the way on the Red Paint Tribe of Maine.. and will be posting it here very soon. There is a person in my neighborhood who's father is a top Archaeologist and well he shares this information with his son all the time. And he may also help me find out more information about the Indian buried in my backyard as well.
I may have to borrow his dad for a while LOL
But his dad has done a lot of research and findings here in Maine of many of the Tribal Indians and the lives of the people before Maine was Maine. And even after Maine was Maine. So now I have a resource guys! So I plan to sit him down soon and get the information I need! As my hubby is working with him right now for a bit and well he will be visiting often! :) I cannot wait!
